    The Masters in Public Health (MPH) program in the College of Health at Oregon State University invites applications for one or more fixed term, non-tenure track full/part-time Instructor positions to teach courses on a term-by-term basis for the academic year.


    Some of these appointments may be reviewed for renewal or transition to an instructional position on an annual basis at the discretion of the School Head.

    Salary is competitive and will be negotiated with the School Head.


    Courses will be in the online option of the MPH degree in Public Health Practice (PHP) and/or the online Graduate Certificate in Public Health (GCPH).

    The MPH program is accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH).


    Appointments will be housed in either the School of Biological and Population Health Sciences or the School of Social and Behavioral Health Sciences, depending on courses to be taught.

    Key Responsibilities


    100% Teaching:


    Teach and administer graduate courses designed for online delivery in the field of public health, including the following disciplines: biostatistics, environmental and occupational health, epidemiology, global health, health management and policy, and health promotion and health behavior.

    Hold regular virtual office hours to assist students with coursework and answer questions regarding curriculum.

    What You Will Need


    • Master's degree or higher in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Environmental and Occupational Health, Global Health, Health Management, Health Policy, Health Promotion, Health Behavior, Public Health, or closely related discipline appropriate to the field of teaching/instructional tasks.
    • Teaching experience at the college or university level.
    • Experience with modern pedagogical techniques.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of audiences, especially using electronic communication methods.
    • Evident commitment to educational equity.
    What We Would Like You to Have


    • Experience teaching online courses.
    • One year of professional experience in public health practice settings or organizations.
    • A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
