The hospital is the site of the worlds first successful hand transplant and AbioCor implantable replacement heart procedures, in addition to the first trial of adult cardiac stem cells in chronic heart failure.
Jewish Hospital offers the most advanced technology for minimally invasive, robotic surgery including the da Vinci Xi, used for cardiac, general surgery, urologic, head and neck, and colorectal procedures, the Monarch Platform, a fully integrated bronchoscope for early detection of lung cancer, and Strykers MAKO roboticarm for total joint replacement of the knee and hip.
Part of Jewish Hospital, the UofL Health Trager Transplant Center is a nationally recognized transplant center offering heart, lung, liver, kidney, living donor, pancreas, and vascularized composite allografts (hand only) transplantation.
As an advanced organ disease center, our multidisciplinary team of physicians and experts treat complex organ failure with live-saving procedures like the implantation of ventricular assist devices (VAD) and transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) as well as organ transplantation.

Job SummaryThe Clinical Assistant provides clinical patient care support in a caring, safe, and efficient manner, under the supervision and delegation of the Registered Nurse.
In collaboration with patients and families (as defined by the patient) the Clinical Assistant is responsible for the care of the patient.
The Clinical Assistant adheres to and is supportive of the hospital and the department of Nursing mission and philosophy.Performs clerical duties on the unit under the direction of the Licensed Nursing Personnel. Utilizes professional communication skills between personnel within the department, and to other departments in relation to patient care. Presents a personable and professional attitude to physicians, patients, families, visitors, and co-workers at all times.
ResponsibilitiesSupport the mission, vision, and values of the organizationInteracts effectively with patients, physicians, nurses, visitors, and other customers utilizing effective verbal and non-verbal communication skillsMaintains the patient record by properly stickering, identifying, and filing all patient documentsForwards all medical records to the HIM department upon dischargeEnsures station census is accurate and all patients are correct in computer systemsMaintains clean and organized workstationsReports hazards and unsafe practices to leadership or other appropriate individualsOrders, stocks, and maintains clerical supplies and patient care documentsWrites legibly and transcribes communication accuratelyMaintains compliance with all company policies, procedures and standards of conductComplies with HIPAA privacy and security requirements to maintain confidentiality at all timesPerforms clerical duties on the unit under the direction of the Licensed Nursing Personnel.
Utilizes professional communication skills between personnel within the department, and to other departments in relation to patient care. Experience:
Previous clerical/computer experience and medical terminology strongly preferred. Experience with software systems. Experience in charging supplies (required)
