Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant role is a vital accounting team member and instrumental in the month-end closing process. Position responsibilities include recording journal entries, maintaining accounts reconciliation schedules, supervising clerical staff, filing liquor & sales tax returns, and maintaining the integrity of the general ledger.

Essential Functions:

Prepares, records, and enters journal entries involving cash, AR, inventory, prepaid accruals, and various intercompany transactions in an accurate & timely manner.
Assists in the monthly financial closing process by reconciling various general ledger accounts and providing account analysis & support.
Reconciles bank accounts.
Maintains fixed assets depreciation schedule.
Oversees monthly physical inventory counts, coordinating issues & results with warehouse staff.
Files liquor & sales taxes to meet all requirements while avoiding overpayment.

Experience Preferred:

Bachelor's degree in accounting is required. CPA a plus.
Minimum of 2-5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a distribution environment.
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office software, with Advanced MS Excel skills.
Experience with SAP/Oracle/Great Plains or other large ERP accounting systems.
Experience working in a multi-location-based organization with company roll-up and consolidations is preferred
