    Job Description


    American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Clinical Resource Unit float pool position on night shifts, requiring an IL RN license, Epic experience, and Level 1 trauma experience.

    Responsibilities

    • Work in the Clinical Resource Unit (float pool) covering multiple inpatient hospital units, including Medical-Oncology, Surgical-Orthopedic, Cardiovascular Care, Progressive Care, Mental Health, and Acute Rehab
    • Care for a diverse population with both acute and chronic cardiac and pulmonary cases, post-surgical patients, and medical diagnoses such as MI, CHF, stroke, cancer, and cellulitis
    • Patient care includes medication administration, post-op care, IV venipuncture, blood administration, and patient/family education
    • Night shift schedule, 7:00PM to 7:30AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
    • Use of Epic EMR is required and experience must be demonstrated
    • Floating to various units within the hospital is required
    • Main responsibilities include developing and implementing patient care plans, managing care for medically complex patients, performing critical thinking assessments, and collaborating within a multidisciplinary team
    • Responsible for comprehensive documentation, safe medication administration, and effective delegation to support staff
    • Prioritizes patient safety, adherence to all safety standards, and completion of bedside shift reports and hourly rounding
    • RTO (requested time off) cannot exceed 7 days per 13-week contract
    • Does not accept local candidates; must reside more than 50 miles from facility
    • Contingent workers are limited to one year of assignment and must take a six-month break before returning
    • No travel partners are accepted for this position
    • Scrub requirements and dress code details are not specified

    Requirements

    • Active, valid IL RN license (a temporary license is accepted)
    • Current BLS (AHA) certification required
    • Minimum of one year recent and relevant RN experience in a hospital setting
    • Demonstrated Level 1 trauma hospital experience is required
    • Epic EMR experience is required
    • Associate degree in nursing or higher required
    • Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently
