    The Opportunity

    Delaware North Gaming is hiring a part-time EMT to join our team at Finger Lakes Gaming in Farmington, New York. As a certified Emergency Medical Technician, you will provide basic emergency rescue and medical care to the ill and injured while following all health, safety, and confidentiality policies and procedures.

    Responsibilities

  • Attend to paramedical emergency medical requests, prepare the ill or injured for transport, and provide patient information to the receiving ambulance company.
  • Follow all patient HIPAA regulations; complete all paperwork and reports required by all State and Federal regulations.
  • Inspect emergency medical equipment to ensure serviceability and compliance with safety and infection control regulations and standards.
  • Follow established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives; ensure safety, environmental, and infection control standards are followed.
  • Complete and transfer patient care information and records per established procedures.
  • Operate motorized vehicle when necessary

    Qualifications

  • EMT Certification with a minimum of 1 year experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a state gaming license.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, pass an MVR check, and take a drug test.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to read, speak, and write English well enough to carry out written and oral instructions regarding the proper performance of duties and write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of guests or team members.
  • Basic computer skills including word processing, data base entry and email.

    Physical Requirements

  • Frequently required to stand and walk for entire length of shift.
  • Ability to walk up and down stairs frequently and the ability bend, climb, stoop, lift, reach and push.
  • Visual and hearing acuity sufficient to see and hear patients and surroundings, and identify potential security violations.
  • Hearing ability sufficient to respond to the spoken voice and audible alarms.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to use hands, grasp or handle items and equipment.
  • Ability to lift and move 125 pounds or more on a regular basis as well as ability to lift and move patient's as needed.
