    Position Summary: Act as part of the medical services team providing prenatal and reproductive health care according to PPHP protocol and operational process as directed by the Chief Medical Officer and/or Associate Medical Director. In addition, serves as the Clinical Director for the affiliate's Gender Affirming Care (GAC) Program and the coordination of.

    Essential Functions:
    • Secure a complete health history, including obstetric, gynecologic, gender identity, sexual behaviors, contraceptive, medical, surgical, sexual, family health, and psychosocial, and record findings accurately and succinctly.
    • Participate in the direct provision of all medical services including but not limited to gender affirming hormone therapy, family planning, abortion, prenatal, colposcopy, STD and infertility services on a scheduled basis.
    • Perform physical examinations with special emphasis on the reproductive system, including breast examination, pelvic examination, cancer screening tests, diagnosis of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and other types of more specialized procedures as may be indicated by medical policy. See 3.5 patient encounters per hour.
    • Oversee Gender Affirming Care service at PPHP and ensure compliance with the Medical Services and Guidelines
      • Be available for provider questions and consults for complicated cases regarding Gender Affirming Hormone Therapy
    • Maintain the Gender Affirming Resources and Referrals Guide for PPHP
      • Make updates to Medical Standards and Guidelines and PPHP practice protocols in accordance with latest evidence for gender affirming care.
    • Participate in accomplishing patient focused goals.
    • Provide referrals and participates in follow-up.
    • Perform, orders, and interprets diagnostic studies as indicated and permitted by affiliate medical protocols
    • Consult with Chief Medical Officer or Senior Vice President Patient Services and Operations to ensure compliance with medical protocols.
    • Provides clinical input and contribution for the revision and implementation of PPHP's clinical policies, protocols and procedures in accordance with PPFA Medical Standards and Guidelines, the New York State Department of Health, Title X, and any other relevant regulatory body.
    • In collaboration with the Chief Medical Officer and other key patient services management staff, participates in the planning and evaluation of PPHP's health services and programs.
    • Provides direct patient care services in the following areas on a scheduled basis: gender affirming hormone therapy, prenatal care, family planning and medication abortion services. If qualified will provide surgical abortion, colposcopy, cryotherapy, LEEP and ambulatory gynecology.
    • Recognize and treat deviations from the normal, using prescribed protocols.
    • Provide relevant health instruction to include family planning, nutrition, sexual counseling, and principles of health promotion and maintenance.
    • In the absence of the Medical Laboratory Director, act as the Laboratory Supervisor.
    • Collaborate with the health team and other community agencies and resources (e.g., physicians, local health departments, social service, nutritionists, dentists, and parent education groups), through joint planning and coordination of activities, in providing comprehensive care.     • Supports effort of the PPHP's diversity program to provide services that are culturally and linguistically competent; takes the initiative to develop own awareness and knowledge of diversity matters.
    • Completes all responsibilities according to established protocols, policies and standard practices in the areas of customer service, quality assurance and regulatory compliance programs such as HIPAA (Health Information Portability & Accountability Act), OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Act) and CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Administration) and Title X.

    Non-Essential Functions:
    • Collaborate with the health team and other community agencies and resources (e.g., physicians, local health departments, social service, nutritionists, dentists, and parent education groups), through joint planning and coordination of activities, in providing comprehensive care. Work to ensure understanding and acceptance, by colleagues, other professionals, consumers, and the community at large, of the role of Mid-Level Clinician.
    • Participate in Compliance, Risk & Management and Quality Assurance program, medical committee meetings and other agency and center meetings as required
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    • Regularly checks personal PPHP email account for important agency-related communications, at least every 24 hours.

    Qualifications:
    • Experience, Education and Licensure
    • Medical education and degree, with appropriate training and experience.
    • Current NYS license as a PA, NP, DO or MD; national certification preferred.
      • A minimum of 1-2 year of Gender Affirming Care experience
    • Must have current CPR/BLS certification.
    • Three to five years clinical experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.
    • Ability to lead and motivate teams. Experienced supervisor with ability to work as a team. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with diverse staff and clients.
    • Ability and willingness to manage 3.5 patients per hour.
    • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
    • Maintain a professional commitment in representing the philosophy and goals of Planned Parenthood.

    $120,000 - $210,000 annual salary range, depending on years of relevant experience.
