- Predictive Modeling: Build predictive models to predict customer behavior, such as churn, lifetime value, price sensitivity, channel preference and purchase propensity within the subscriptions businesses. Develop predictive models for upsell/cross sell across the different product lines.
- Data Infrastructure and Technology: Collaborate with data engineering and ML Ops teams to establish and maintain robust data infrastructure, ensuring data quality, accessibility, and security. Establish model governance and implementation processes. Evaluate and implement appropriate data science tools, platforms, and technologies to streamline processes and enhance data-driven marketing capabilities.
- Data-driven Marketing Strategies: Utilize advanced analytics and predictive techniques to analyze large volumes of customer data, including demographic information, transactional data, online behavior, and social media data. Derive actionable insights to optimize marketing strategies, improve customer targeting, and personalize marketing campaigns.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, product, and finance, to understand their business needs and translate them into data-driven solutions. Present insights and recommendations to senior executives and stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner.
- A minimum of Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Business)
- 2+ years working in a data science role, preferably in a consumer business.
- A strong understanding of machine learning modeling and other predictive algorithms, tools and techniques.
- Proficiency in Python, R, SQL and experience with data visualization tools (Looker, Tableau)
- Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders.

About the Role:
As a Data Scientist, Marketing Data Science at Dow Jones, you will use data to identify trends in subscription activity, both in terms of new subscriber acquisition and existing subscriber engagement. Reporting to VP of Marketing Analytics & Modeling, you will work across our consumer brands, including The Wall Street Journal, Barron's, and MarketWatch, transforming large dataset into actionable insights and performance-oriented dashboards. You will develop data-driven insights to inform marketing tactics, subscription strategy, and engagement efforts within the Dow Jones marketing organization.

Pay Range: $40,000 - $160,000
