    Job Description


    Partners with Senior Director Workforce Strategy in contributing to the effective implementation of key preventative labor relations/ associate relations programs and initiatives across North America.

    The Area Employee Relations Manager (WSM) will lead the development and execution of the Regional Workforce Strategy processes in partnership with Senior Director Labor Relations, Director Workforce Strategy and Programs and Sector HR Leadership across North America.


    • Partners with Senior Directors of Labor Relations and Director of Workforce Strategy and Programs to design, lead and set strategic direction for associate relations programs and processes. Assists in the management of communications of associate relations programs and processes.
    • Successfully integrates organization-wide associate relations interventions into local operations.
    • Manages, evaluates and makes recommendations around associate relations metrics.
    • Analyzes and examines issues and makes recommendation around DHL Supply Chain policies, procedures and best practices.
    • Leads and supports the integration of best practices in associate relations/employee engagement initiative and activities and monitors consistent execution.
    • Sponsors and provides input into the design/development of internal HR policies and procedures
    • Supports the integration of principles and techniques of associate involvement and communication into actionable steps.
    • Conducts and monitors human resources/labor relations (EEA) audits and identified action items to ensure legal compliance and positive associate relations
    • Implements and manages post-audit Action Plans as developed by Human Resources and Workforce Strategy Teams
    • Monitors compliance with internal policies and practices and partner with HR and business to address issues
    • Establishes Business Unit (BU) wide techniques and processes aimed at increasing involvement, enhancing communications and improving recognition.
    • Champions effective BU-wide communications to create a more effective operating culture.
    • Helps set strategic direction with senior management (i.e. Operations and Human Resources) in support of associate relations issues.
    • Influences and shapes organization-wide associate relations structure to attract, develop, engage and retain associates.
    • Analyzes climate and shapes positive environment; empowers managers relative to labor relations.
    • Contributes to the development and delivery of training programs for Field HR, HR Shared Services, and campus/site leadership.
    Monitors effectiveness of training activities.

    • Partners with Sector leadership, campus/site leadership, Field HR, and HR Shared services in the development and implementation of processes and policies related to labor relations/associate relations
    • Participates in projects related to business pursuits, start-ups, divestitures, closures, acquisitions, and integrations specific to associate and labor relations as appropriate.
    • Supports start-ups within the region to ensure appropriate implementation of associate relations processes/programs.
    Required Education and Experience


    • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Psychology, Sociology, or related field., required
    • Professional certification (PHR or SPHR), preferred
    • 5-7 years of experience in Human Resources, with particular emphasis on labor relations and/or associate relations, required
