RN position, and the employee will physically work on-site at the central HUB located outside the medical center in Des Moines, Iowa. This is not a remote work from home position. - Virtually monitors for pending clinical deterioration usingvirtualassessment skills, medical record review, and clinical expertise, coordinating with patient facing team members to identify immediate needs and mitigate emergent clinical conditions. · Mentors nurses new to their role for the purpose of ensuring orientation, competence, and emotional support.
- Bachelor's degree innursing (BSN) from an accreditedNursingProgram preferred
- Active Registered Nurse licensure issued by the Iowa Board ofNursingor anursinglicense with eNLC multi-state practice privileges
- Minimum of 8-year nursingexperience with 2 years in an Emergency Department - Basic Life Support - ACLS

Job Summary:
The ideal nurse will have at least 8 years' experience of which 2 years are in the emergency department and possess a high degree of comfort working with technology. As avirtualnurse in the ED, you will partner with the bedside ED RN and play an active role in the care and resuscitation of critically ill patients including, but not limited to, facilitation of ACLS, routine rounding and patient assessment, monitoring critical labs, and provider communication. In addition, the EDvirtualnurse will collaborate continuously with the ED charge nurse to assist in priority tasks that support the efficiency of throughput in the emergency department. Thevirtualnurse plays an important role in supporting movement within the department based on volume and acuity. The virtualED RN is a vital member of thenursingcare team and requires a high degree of professional competence and autonomy which will be demonstrated in performing the roles of 1) clinician, 2) educator, 3) consultant/collaborator, and 4) mentor.
