    Director – Mainframe

    NYC, NY/Winston Salem, NC - Hybrid

    Full Time

    This position is for a Director of Software Development for our Mainframe Development group. This is a hands-on management position leading a team of developers building and supporting the EPN application.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, enhancing, and modernizing the mainframe applications that support our core Product application.

    Qualifications required:

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in the field of Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or another related field
    • 10+ years related experience, at least 5 years in a management capacity.
    • Thorough knowledge of Unisys ClearPath MCP Systems, secure development practices and SDLC
    • Experience with COBOL, ALGOL and Workflow Language (WFL) with corresponding ability to develop solutions on a Unisys ClearPath MCP mainframe environment.
    • Experience with Unisys ClearPath MCP Development Environment- System/Editor, CANDE, NX/Webstation (WebEnabler), NX/Services, Programmer's Workbench
    • Experience in both Agile and Waterfall development methodologies
    • Knowledgeable in Project Management methods, processes, and deliverables
    • Experience tracking and reporting relevant development metrics (e.g., capacity, productivity, progress, quality)
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Experience in building a solid team than can work across multiple application teams.
    • Participate in the development and maintenance of an Enterprise Application Architecture.

    Qualifications desired:

    • Knowledge of EPN application processing and NACHA rules
    • Familiarity with Unisys Clearpath MCP Operations – Operator Display Terminal (ODT) commands, MARC, Remotespo, Security, File System
    • Knowledge of DMSII Databases

    Essential functions and responsibilities:

    • Collaboration across teams including Product, Distributed and Quality Engineering.
    • Develop and execute an appropriate delivery team model (e.g., resources, skills, process management) to meet current and projected needs/constraints.
    • Ensure on-time, on-budget, and high-quality code delivery.
    • Effective resource management and planning
    • Ensure adherence to all software development techniques and processes.
    • Responsible for providing support for development, testing and Operations for all project- and maintenance-related work efforts Facilitate/Manage all code releases to Quality Engineering and ensure adherence to release/deployment processes.
    • Support the coordination of Component/Unit/Integration Testing
