    Description
    This is the advanced level position. The position functions as a crew leader overseeing / training the work of lower-level workers performing refrigeration mechanic assignments. Responsible for the repair/replacement of all defective heating, cooling and refrigeration equipment (domestic & commercial) at Selfridge ANGB MI. Install and maintain boiler systems, refrigeration compressors, heat pump systems, and forced air systems equipment.

    This position will also be responsible for operating and solving complex issues relating to the operating and monitoring of our automated building environmental system, (HVAC).

    Monitor / program graphic displays in order to control heating, air conditioning, ventilation, lighting, boilers, pumps, alarms, and other building control equipment.

    Troubleshoot, repair, or reprogram potential problems.

    Education

    Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school.

    Refrigeration Mechanic 10


    Five years of experience in the HVAC or refrigeration mechanic trade, such as heating and cooling, hydronic heating, refrigeration cooling, or mechanical contractor or inspector, including one year equivalent to a Refrigeration Mechanic E9.


    Completion of a vocational training program in refrigeration mechanics that includes commercial or industrial level instruction may be substituted for two years of experience assisting skilled trades people.
