    POSITION SUMMARY
    Registered nurse is responsible for collaborating, planning, directing, and implementing patient care for all ages. The RN develops and guides patient education and evaluates the process using standards of care. Manages, assesses, monitors dialysis patients while undergoing dialysis. Reports issues and status to physicians and other staff as required.

     

    POSITION SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    - Reports To: Department director and coordinator
    - Supervises: PCA's, techs

     

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
    - Minimum Education: Registered Nurse (RN)
    - Minimum Work Experience: 12 months acute clinical experience as a Nurse
    - Required Licenses/Certifications:
      - Current RN licensure with the State of Texas, Appropriate BLS Certification.
      - RN license in good standing in the state of employment or a compact state
    - Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
      - General knowledge of basic bedside nursing. Must demonstrate the necessary knowledge and skills to provide care based on various criteria appropriate to the age of patients served in the assigned area/department. Skills and knowledge are obtained through education, training, and/or experience.


    Department Preferred Qualifications
    - At least 6 months of dialysis experience
    - Clinical patient care experience in a relevant setting
    - Certification in Nephrology Nursing or related field

     

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
    - Must work varied hours and schedules. Requires prolonged walking and standing, frequent bending and/or stooping. May involve lifting or positioning of patients. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. May be exposed to communicable diseases and bodily fluids. Requires the ability to maintain concentration in a noisy and fast-paced environment. May be exposed to violent or disturbed individuals.

    Registered Nurse

    - Develops and revises care plans, completing tasks efficiently, following protocols, and prioritizing patient needs.
    - Administers specific IV medications and supervises blood transfusions according to policy.

     

    Pay:
    $41.00 per hour
