    Cyber, Senior Underwriter

    The TMHCC Cyber and Professional Lines Group is looking for a self-motivated, analytical, and relationship-focused

    Senior Underwriter

    to join their Cyber underwriting team.

    An ideal candidate will possess a passion for methodical underwriting with the ability to evaluate risk, with a focus on customer service and business development.

    Location(s): Encino, CA


    Shift:
    Hybrid in office (3) days per week

    Position Overview

    This is a market-facing production underwriting role on a close-knit team of highly motivated and productive individuals.

    You will be responsible for underwriting new and renewal business and developing relationships with our key customers to achieve our team's shared objectives.

    You will need to be able to work and collaborate as part of a team of underwriters yet, have the ability to formulate an independent thought process and be solution-oriented.

    You should be willing to speak up and promote positive change, be goal driven, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.

    Key Responsibilities:
    Assist in meeting annual department goals for profitability, renewal retention, new business growth, and rate increase.
    Evaluate risks for acceptability within established underwriting guidelines.
    Clearly and effectively communicate decisions with producers and effectively respond to any ensuing inquiries.
    Build and maintain productive relationships with clients, producers, co-workers, and any outside vendors.
    Respond to submissions and servicing items within agreed-upon company time frames.
    Act within the scope of authority and consistent with company and corporate objectives, guidelines, policies, and practices.
    Ensure that effective communications are maintained within the area of responsibility.
    Communicate and provide instruction and information to Administrative Supervisor and/or Underwriting Assistants, as required, for issuing policies and endorsements.

    Pursue educational classes such as Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and/or Registered Professional Liability Underwriter (RPLU), as agreed upon with management.

    Additional duties and special assignments, as requested by the manager.

    Experience & Education
    4 Year / Bachelor's Degree in a related field, or the equivalent education and/or experience
    Minimum 3 years of experience underwriting Cyber/Tech E&O (Retail)
    3 to 5 Years of relevant and progressive professional experience


    Qualifications:
    Knowledge of forms, procedures, and insurance terminology
    Result- and profit-oriented with the ability to balance other business considerations
    Strong analytical, strong reasoning abilities, and strong negotiation abilities
    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and/or government insurance regulations
    Possess and have the ability to apply broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy
    Knowledgeable of industry changes, legal updates, and technical developments related to applicable areas of the Company's business to proactively respond to changing business environment
    Excellent interpersonal skills
    Team- and deadline-oriented environment
    Intermediate proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office package (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word)

    Travel Expectations

    While future travel expectations are uncertain at the moment, it's possible you may travel up to 10% of the time both locally and out of state.

    For candidates working in person or remotely in California, the reasonable pay range for this specific position is $107,100 - $147,400 annually.
