    The Department of Information Resources (DIR) requires the services of one DevOps Engineer 3, hereafter referred to as Worker, who meets the general qualification of DevOps Engineer 3 and the specifications outlined in this document for the above-named customer.


    The position requires broad-based skills with solid background in architecture, design, development and deployment of applications and integration with tools.

    Experience with Oracle, Java, SQL tools (PL/SQL developer, SQL plus), XML, LDAP, Splunk, Dynatrace, ISAM, IBM MQ and Middleware application servers is required.

    Experience with solution design and implementation, incorporating architectures such as SOA, Event Driven, MVC, Django, Serverless and Spring frameworks is a must.

    Experience developing and supporting large, mission critical transaction processing applications is required. Strong experience with scripting languages such as bash, shell, Perl, python, groovy and JavaScript is a must.

    The individual will participate and provide technical leadership for replacing and upgrading application technology platforms such as migrations of applications from legacy SFTP platform to a modern one, migrate application from on-premises messaging solution to Cloud Service Provider's messaging alternative and designing & implementing data archival solution.

    The individual must have proven ability to develop architectures that incorporate high availability, operations supportability, and scalability - an end-to-end perspective.

    In the architecture/design role worker will participate in discovery sessions with business liaisons, vendors, business analysts to design and develop new scalable and secure Enterprise IT solutions or augment and improve existing solutions.

    Exposure to cloud technologies is highly desired. The individual will also be involved in triaging high priority production issues and providing root cause analysis.

    The individual suitable for this position must have worked in Agile SDLC.

    Ability to learn complex material quickly, allocate time efficiently, handle multiple projects and deliverables concurrently, along with the ability to effectively communication and build relationship with technical staff and executive management.

    The position maybe required to work afterhours for completion of assigned deliverables.

    Roles And Responsibilities


    Architect, design, develop and integrate tools and technologies for delivery of new end-to-end enterprise solutions or enhancements of existing ones.

    Participate in discovery sessions with business liaisons, vendors, business analysts to design and develop new scalable and secure Enterprise IT solutions.

    Participation in Sprints discovery, standups, retrospectives and other aspects of Agile SDLC
    Supporting concurrent application development targeting multiple future releases as part of scoping development work
    Triaging high priority production issues and provide root cause analysis
    Documents processes and procedures.

    Required / Preferred Skill Set

    8 Years - Required, Experience in Architecture, design, development and deployment of application and integration with tools.

    8 Years - Required, Solution design and implementation incorporating architectures such as SOA, Event Driven, MVC, Django, serverless and spring frameworks.

    The Information Technology (IT) Applications, Medicaid/CHIP Systems (IT-MCS) team is developing a new web-based application for
    HHSCContract Administration and Provider Monitoring (CAPM).


    The selected candidate must possess knowledge and experience in web application architecture, development, and implementation with JAVA/J2EE, Angular, Spring Boot, Bootstrap, IBM WebSphere, and Oracle databases in an Agile project development environment.

    You will support the application development through coding, testing, code peer reviews, documentation, defect root cause analysis and troubleshooting as required.

    Selected candidate must be available for on-call support as needed and perform other duties as required for the project.
