- Recognize abnormal rhythms and immediately notify Physician or appropriate clinical staff.
- Maintain accurate patient documentation, including computerized documentation.
- Will work in conjunction with Director of Cardiology in creating and maintaining protocols/procedures
- Perform imaging and non-imaging evaluations which may include echocardiography.
- Obtains patient history, explains procedures to patient, addresses patients' concerns, and follows established pre-screening policy and procedure.
- Determines appropriate methodology and techniques to use; arranges immobilization and/or support devices for proper patient positioning; selects appropriate imaging device.
- Teach and mentor new employees, students from university and community college
- Required: Associate degree from an accrediting Sonography or Echocardiography program
- Required: 3+ years' experience working as an echocardiologist
- Required: Certified through an Accredited Ultrasound Program and/or ARDMS or CCI
- Required: State License
- Required: Current BLS certification

The Lead Echo Technologist performs at a technical level a variety of cardiovascular procedures to provide an efficient, comfortable, and safe examination of all patients. Utilizes independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative. The Lead utilizes proficiency in all aspects of his/her designated procedural area in preparation, assessment, documentation, and monitoring consistent with the policies and procedures of the Cardiovascular Department and Hospital administration. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures. Teaches and directs the work of other staff and students as required. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
