30-Day Accounting & Compliance Engagement – Multi-Location S-Corp (Retail, Multi-State US)We operate 7 retail locations (phone repair and electronics) under an S-Corporation structure. The business operates primarily in Kansas and Missouri, with prior activity in Texas. The company follows an inventory-heavy retail model.
This engagement is structured as a 30-day compliance and accounting stabilization project, organized into defined weekly phases. Continued services may be considered based on mutual fit.

Week 1 – Compliance Review & Sales Tax Assessment (Phase 1)
Three-State Sales Tax Compliance Review
- Review current sales tax obligations
- Identify missed filings (if any)
- Confirm jurisdiction-level reporting requirements
- Review state nexus exposure and confirm registration compliance
- Establish structured sales tax compliance calendar
- Review EIN records with IRS
- Identify address inconsistencies across IRS, state filings, sales tax accounts, and financial platforms
Week 2 – Filings, EIN Updates & Entity Corrections (Phase 2)
Sales Tax Filings
- File required sales tax returns (as applicable)
- Update EIN address with IRS (if required)
- Ensure business address consistency across all platforms
- Review and align all registered business addresses
- Prepare and file final state compliance forms
- Confirm tax clearance and final filings
- Ensure proper termination with IRS and applicable state authorities
- Prepare and file dissolution documents
- Confirm compliance with Wyoming Secretary of State
- Confirm final federal and state tax obligations
Week 3 – Tax Review & Governance Structuring (Phase 3)
Business & Personal Tax Filing Support
- Preparation or review of business tax return (Form 1120-S)
- Preparation or review of personal tax return (Form 1040)
- Identify compliance gaps
- Provide guidance on S-Corp reasonable salary requirements
- Create and finalize an operating agreement for the company
Week 4 – QuickBooks System Model Creation & Accounting Structure (Phase 4)
QuickBooks System Design
- Develop structured Chart of Accounts for multi-location retail
- Configure Location/Class tracking
- Implement proper inventory accounting setup (Inventory Asset + COGS structure)
- Establish owner contribution and distribution framework
- Create clean bookkeeping workflow
- Define and document monthly close process
- Structure bank and credit card reconciliation process
- Set up proper sales tax liability tracking within QuickBooks
Expected Outcome After 30 Days
- All compliance matters identified and addressed
- EIN and address records updated and consistent across platforms
- Properly dissolved LLC entities with confirmed compliance
- Operating agreement finalized
- Clean and systemized accounting structure in QuickBooks
- Defined and documented monthly close procedure
- Clear financial foundation for scalability
- Roadmap for continued accounting and tax services (if mutually agreed)
Ideal Candidate
- Active U.S.-licensed CPA preferred
- Strong experience with S-Corporations
- Experience with multi-state sales tax compliance
- Retail and inventory-heavy business experience
- Experience handling entity closures (LLC dissolutions)
- Strong QuickBooks Online system design experience
