and RequirementsRole Value Proposition:
We are looking for a Mainframe SRE who can help design and implement modern applications on our Mainframe.

You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, security, and scalability of our Mainframe zCX, OpenShift, z/OS Connect, and Java infrastructure.

You will work closely with other SREs, developers, and business stakeholders to deliver solutions that meet our customers' needs and expectations.

Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement a modern application architecture for our Mainframe systems, including z/OS Connect, OpenShift, Java, and DevOps pipelines.

Assist with incremental modernization of monolithic Cobol programs to micro-service APIs.
Assist with re-platforming Applications to cloud-based technologies and GenAI products.
Monitor and troubleshoot the Mainframe systems and applications, using tools such as Mainview and a modern telemetry data lake.
Perform root cause analysis and incident and problem response for Mainframe issues.
Optimize and modernize Mainframe applications, using techniques such as GenAI, automation, performance tuning, and capacity planning.

Collaborate with other SREs, developers, and business stakeholders to ensure the alignment of the Mainframe platform architecture with the business objectives and requirements.

Keep up to date with the latest trends and technologies in the Mainframe domain and propose improvements and innovations.

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
At least 5 years of experience supporting Mainframe Applications.
Expert knowledge of Mainframe Application architectures, including CICS/MQ, z/OS Connect, zCX, OpenShift, and Java.
Experience in Mainframe SRE, DevOps methodologies, and tools, such as CI/CD pipelines, UCD, zSecure, QRadar.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


Preferred:
Proficient in the use of GenAI products to refactor legacy Code.
Proficient in Mainframe technologies, such as z/OS, CICS, DB2, MQ, IMS, RACF, JCL, COBOL, and Assembler.
