- Prepare medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders and detecting therapeutic incompatibilities.
- Dispense medications by compounding, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals.
- Control medications by monitoring drug therapies; advising interventions when necessary.
- Complete pharmacy operational requirements by organizing and directing technicians' workflow, verifying their preparation and labeling of pharmaceuticals, and verifying order entries, charges, and inspections.
- Provide pharmacological information by answering questions and requests from health care professionals and counseling patients on drug therapies.
- Develop hospital staff's pharmacological knowledge by participating in clinical programs and training pharmacy staff, students, interns, externs, residents, and health care professionals.
- Comply with state and federal drug laws as regulated by the state board of pharmacy, the drug enforcement administration, and the food and drug administration by monitoring nursing unit inspections.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Protect patients and technicians by adhering to infection-control protocols.
- Monday - Friday: 7:00am-4:00pm
- Saturday - Sunday: 8:00am-12:00pm
- Rotating weekends: Every 2nd or 3rd
- On-call
- TN license clear and active
- 1+ year or more of recent inpatient experience
- IV skills preferred not required
- Willing to work 13+ week contract
