    Bearings Plus (BPI) sets the standard for the engineering, manufacture and repair of fluid film bearings and sealing solutions, servicing the fast turnaround needs of the petrochemical plants along the Gulf Coast, Bearings Plus has its roots deep in the rotating machinery industry and has established itself as a leader in the design, manufacture, and servicing of fluid film bearings and seals.


    The BPI Buyer will be responsible for assuring the continuous supply of materials, components and consumable items to support customer service and product supply goals, minimizing the total landed cost and optimizing cash flow.


    A minimum of 3 years of experience working directly in purchasing or materials management & scheduling, within either an aftermarket services or high-mix, low volume manufacturing business.

    Experience of working within mechanical, oil & gas of power and process industry sectors would be beneficial.
    Knowledge of supplier performance management practices and supplier scorecard.
    Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft office suite software (e.g. Word, Excel, Access, MS project, etc.).

    Ideally your experience will be supported by related professional qualification's such as a Degree in Supply Chain Management or CPP, CPIM, CSCP certification.

    Lean Manufacturing and Six-Sigma Green Belt certifications would be desirable.

    Generating and adjusting purchase orders and/or shop work orders to support production schedules.
    Recommend improvement opportunities and alternative courses of action to purchasing leaders.

    Support purchasing management in activities such as price benchmarking, vendor management, process analysis, market and industry research, and model building.

    Conduct contract negotiations. Managing legal and compliance documentation.
    Expedite materials as required and provide accurate material status information to other departments and site management.
    Measure and manage supplier performance to support supply chain continuous improvement efforts. Interface with Suppliers, Quality, Strategic Sourcing, and Engineering to quickly resolve quality, delivery or cost issues.

    Drive increased inventory turns, reduced cycle times, and improve Customer OTD by developing, implementing and managing pull-based material replenishment processes, including, but not limited to Kanban cards, vendor managed inventory and supplier consignments.

    Consistent with DOVER's Operational Excellence focus, participates in Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen events that will eliminate waste and result in significant benefits (Growth, Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost) throughout the Supply Chain.

    Engender a spirit of cooperation throughout the supply chain to insure responsiveness to the customer.
