    Location: Rose Hill Adolescent Treatment Program - Massena, NY

    Position: Full-time Maintenance/Environmental Services Technician

    Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm

    Pay Range: $18.00/hour to $20.00/hour

    Position Summary: Performs general maintenance tasks, a variety of janitorial duties, and assists in the prevention and maintenance program. Provides transportation as may be assigned.

    Education and Training: High School graduate, or equivalency with previous janitorial or general maintenance experience. Valid New York State driver's license.

    Experience and Work Knowledge: Minimum of 3 years general maintenance experience. Proficient skills in painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, heating and ventilation. Knowledge of standard cleaning methods and procedures. Experience with using cleaning equipment, including floor buffers and cleaning solutions. Background in handling, mixing, and using cleaning chemicals. Knowledge of occupational hazards safety rules. Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders and work at heights.

    Physical Demands: Must be able to work in various climatic conditions. Ability to perform repetitive motion for long periods of time - Lifting, reaching, bending, pulling, and walking may be required for extended periods. Ability to carry medium to heavy weights. Dexterity and good eyesight required.

    Essential Duties:

    • Operates all equipment in a safe manner.
    • Maintains equipment and tools for effectiveness and safety.
    • Keeps building and property in clean and orderly condition.
    • Performs masonry and painting as part of the preventive maintenance and general maintenance program.
    • Performs plumbing and heating as part of the preventive maintenance and general maintenance program.
    • Performs electrical work as part of the preventive maintenance and general maintenance program.
    • Performs carpentry works as part of the preventive maintenance and general maintenance program.
    • Repairs equipment and vehicles to assure proper working order.
    • Maintains lawns and grounds.
    • Actively participates in organizational meetings and committees as required.
    • Thoroughly cleans all assigned offices, bathrooms, conference rooms, patient rooms, etc. according to daily schedule.
    • General cleaning of the facility such as sweeping, mopping of floors, emptying trash bins, servicing, and cleaning of restrooms, washing windows and doors, furniture, and fixtures, etc.
    • Responsible for cleaning patient rooms and sanitizing prior to new admission arrival.
    • Manages inventory and requisition of cleaning supplies.
    • Assures the appropriate labeling of all cleaning chemical bottles.
    • Maintains facility cleanliness as per STRC policies and procedures.
    • Responsible for additional duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor and the Program Director and/or Designee.
