    BayCare Clinic Eye Specialists is looking for an Ophthalmic Assistant / Ophthalmic Technician to join our team in Green Bay, WI. We're looking for a compassionate, thoughtful candidate who wants to contribute to a positive experience for all our patients. This position can be Monday-Friday, with 8-hour day shifts or 10-hour shifts. No Holidays No Weekends

    The Clinic:

    BayCare Clinic is a successful, dynamic group comprised of 19 specialties. We are a physician-owned entity with joint ownership in Aurora BayCare Medical Center, a 167-bed hospital located in Green Bay, WI, offering us a built-in referral base. Each of our specialty practices have clinical autonomy and are financially sound.

    The Practice:

    We are a team of dedicated Ophthalmologists and Optometrists who exist to meet the ophthalmic needs of the people of Northeastern Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. BayCare Clinic Eye Specialists offers more specialty services than any other provider in northeastern Wisconsin and we are the largest Ophthalmology practice north of Milwaukee, with five locations in northeastern Wisconsin. We have a highly trained, collaborative team of ophthalmologists, most of whom specialize in one aspect of eye health. We have cornea, glaucoma, retina, pediatric and oculoplastic specialists.

    The Job:
    • Maintaining the highest standard of care; assists Ophthalmologist with the treatment of patients and in efficiently moving patients in/out of exam areas.
    • Assists with surgery/procedures as directed by the Ophthalmologist.
    • Has a working knowledge of the needs of the Ophthalmologist.
    • Accurately records patient histories and documents all care and related patient conversations for the medical records.
    • Accurately performs a variety of basic tests as prescribed by the Ophthalmologist and takes vital signs etc.
    • Communicates with patients and completes physician orders regarding prescription medications.
    • Ensures there is a proper stock of medical and drug supplies.
    • Maintains and cleans instruments, lenses, and room equipment.
    The Requirements:
    • Graduation from a technical college program for Ophthalmic Assistant, or equivalent job related experience. On the job training available and scholarship opportunities to work towards Ophthalmic Assistant degree through our partnership with Lakeshore Technical College if not already obtained.
    • Has working knowledge of the needs of the ophthalmologist, optometrist, optician, or 1-3 years related experience in medical field such as caregiver, LPN, CNA or MA preferred.
    • Certified Ophthalmic Assistant preferred.
    • Strong customer service & communication skills.
    • EPIC experience a plus
    • Willing to train candidate motivated to assume responsibility for independent coursework and in clinic training
