Founded in late 2021, Calfus began its operations in January 2022. Since then, Calfus has grown to a team of 100+ employees across Pleasanton, CA in US and Pune, in India.

About the role

The Senior Software Engineer plays a key role within each phase of the software development lifecycle. Besides development, this individual will work cross-functionally with Geo-distributed company's infrastructure, security, product, and other development teams.

Roles and Responsibilities

Build and implement next-generation SaaS applications that includes front-end, services layer and back-end integrations
Validate requirements and system design
Work closely with the team to solve complex problems
Ensure code paths are unit tested and defect free
Lead full integration testing & debug solutions
Rapidly address issues and fix defects discovered during deployment.
Work with nearshore and offshore teams
Document Design & API Doc

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Ability to work on the following technologies-
TypeScript, NodeJS, ReactJS, NextJS, ExpressJS, Python
Application Design: Model-View-Controller (MVC/MVC2), Object Oriented Programming, RESTful webservices
Working Unix experience
10 + years of experience
Excellent analytical and debugging skills
Can take a mock and convert it to a working end to end application (from styling to web services)
Solid & deep understanding of the full web technology stack (e.g. HTTP, cookies, headers, caching, asset pipelines)
Solid understanding of Application Program Interfaces (APIs), Messaging Software and Interoperability Techniques and Standards
Experience with building responsive, consumer facing web applications
Proven track record in developing high quality, performant, and maintainable applications
Solid understanding of version control systems such as Git and bitbucket
Experience with gathering and documenting technical requirements and specifications
Experience using different development methodologies including Scrum, and/or Agile, and test-driven development
Disciplined approach to software engineering best practices (e.g. unit testing, code reviews, design documentation, quality assurance)
Work well within and outside the team.
Prior work experience with startup culture - collaboration, handle competing priorities etc.
