Under the direction of a radiologist or supervisor, the MRI Technologists perform diagnostic/therapeutic procedures. A variety of MRI procedures require independent judgment, specialized technical skills, critical thinking, problem-solving and medical knowledge including anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology. Magnetic Resonance safety principles are applied in order to obtain optimal studies to aid in diagnosis.

    Hourly Pay Rate: $45.00

    This is a POOL position.

    Quaifications

    Education:

    • Requires an associate degree in Radiography and/or completed certificate program in MRI.
    Experience:
    • Must have a minimum of one (1) year of progressively responsible medical imaging experience that demonstrates an understanding of the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
    • Prefer two to three (2-3) years MRI experience.
    Specialized Training:
    • MRI certification courses.
    • Cross-sectional anatomy.
    Certification/Licensure:
    • Requires MRI certification with The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT).
    • Current employees cross trained in MRI must obtain MR certification through either The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) within one year of their MRI transfer date.
    • Licensed by the Arizona Department of Health Services (AZDHS) Medical Radiologic Technology (MRT) preferred.
    • Requires BLS. A BLS card obtained through an approved American Heart Association (AHA) training center is preferred and will be required within 3 months.
    • Must have a valid fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety or submit a completed Affidavit at time of hire. Must complete fingerprint clearance card application within seven (7) days of hire date. Must present actual card within 90 days of applying for fingerprint clearance card.
