- Inspects, repairs, overhauls and modifies all types of automotive, lawn and garden, and custodial equipment.
- Performs preventative maintenance on all types of University equipment.
- Maintains and updates service and individual job records pertaining to time and material usage.
- Performs service calls, minor adjustments, and/or repairs the equipment at the work site. Gathers and disseminates routine information.
- Maintains state-of-the-art knowledge by attending special courses, workshops, or seminars.
- May purchase parts/supplies, clean up shop, take billing information to Accounts Receivable, call departments for scheduled maintenance, and wash cars.
- May supervise helpers and laborers.
- Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of any site support position to include assisting any skilled trade.
- 24 months minimum automotive and/or heavy equipment repair
- Ability to speak, read and write clear, concise English
- Read and understand complex written materials such as blueprints, metrics or technical manuals
- Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information
- Advanced knowledge of repairing automobiles and light equipment
- Knowledge of the proper tools and equipment used to repair automobiles and light equipment
- ASE Certified
- Oklahoma Commercial Driver's License, or willingness to obtain within one year of employment
- Oklahoma Alternative Fuels Technician License, or willingness to obtain within one year of employment
- Regular exposure to disagreeable conditions, extreme temperature changes, odors and loud noises consistent with a fleet repair shop; regularly stands, lifts, bends, stoops; lifts 30lbs or more above shoulders, exposure to heavy lifting up to 100lbs; wears/maintains personal protective equipment.
