    Role:


    The Dietary Aide has day-to-day responsibility for washing dishes, sanitizing dishes, carts, and tables, providing daily food prep for following shift, assisting in serving of patients, as well as providing daily cleaning and general cleaning as assigned by the Environmental Services (EVS) management or other management.


    Qualifications:

    • A high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) preferred
    • Prior related experience in hospital, hospice house, nursing home, and/or general dietary aide experience
    • Serve Safe Certification or comparable certification recognized by the Florida Department of Health preferred (if not, must be obtained within the first 6 months of employment)
    • Must possess technical proficiencies in dietary aide functions
    • Skill in the use of and care for dietary equipment including but not limited to convection oven, steam kettle, large mixer, robot coupe, blenders, dish machine, etc.
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Working knowledge of food service industry standards and regulations
    • Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language conversationally
    • Intermittent Driver - Valid driver's license and automobile insurance per Company policy
    • Ability to keep simple records and to follow simple step-by-step instructions
    • Ability to work with detergents and other cleaning chemicals used for custodial work without adverse reactions
    • Ability to constantly lift, pull, carry, and/or push objects weighing up to 55 pounds
    • Ability to stand, kneel, walk, climb, crouch or bend for long periods of time
    • For secondary housekeeping duties: skill in the use of and care for housekeeping equipment such as vacuum, dusters, chemical pumps, etc.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Removes trash and/or cardboard to exterior of building.
    • Performs assigned dietary cleaning duties to various types of surfaces, floors, equipment to include, but not limited to, stainless steel and tables, plastic and metal carts, and all kitchen equipment.
    • Determines needed supplies and equipment, and relates the needed items to the immediate Supervisor.
    • Monitors expiration dates in kitchen.
    • Prepares meals by warming, plating and garnishing.
    • Delivers meals to patient rooms.
    • Sanitizes dishes after meal prep and/or patient use.
    • Cleans, turns off all dietary equipment and documents accordingly at the end of each shift.
    • When needed, performs assigned housekeeping care to various types of surfaces, floors, equipment, wall surfaces, wall hangings, linens and towels, beds and all components thereof, laminate wood, hardwood, TV stands and tables, radios, plastic and metal carts.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
