As part of the Maryland State Department of Education, the Division of Rehabilitation Services (DORS) provides services to assist students with disabilities prepare for the work world, vocational rehabilitation services to assist adults with significant disabilities who are seeking to enter or reenter the workforce, and the adjudication of Social Security disability claims for the citizens of Maryland.\r

    POSITION DUTIES

    This position is responsible for managing the Office of Individual\r
    and Community Engagement to support the overall\r
    vision, mission, and priorities of the Division of Rehabilitation Services\r
    (DORS).�Serving as the DORS Individual and Community Liaison, this role manages the program tasked with providing the meaningful engagement of consumers, advocates, and community providers in the development and delivery of services throughout the Division. This position will work closely with diverse individuals with disabilities, professional disability related organizations, Legislative Officials, as well as other Program Managers and Office Directors to address consumer and provider needs. This position will report to the Senior Executive Director of Planning, Operations, and Field Services.\r

    Position Duties Include:�\r

    Provide timely responses\r
    to consumers, advocates, community disability program representatives, and\r
    legislators to address concerns or inquiries.�\r
    Operationalize a case\r
    tracking system to maintain robust records of all inquiries, appeals, and\r
    responses.�\r
    Create management\r
    reports and processes to analyze data and trends to determine staff training\r
    needs.�\r
    Develop\r
    and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to solicit\r
    feedback from DORS consumers and their family members, advocates, and\r
    community disability programs related to vocational rehabilitation services.\r
    Attend\r
    community outreach events and participate in activities to solicit engagement\r
    of students, potential applicants, and current consumers.�\r
    Supervise staff within the Office of Individual and Community Engagement.\r

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    \r
    Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university\r
    \r
    \r
    Experience: Four years of professional experience providing vocational rehabilitation�services. Two years of of the required experience must have included providing direct supervision of other professional employees or serving as the technical lead of a vocational rehabilitation sub-program.\r

    Possession of a master's degree in a human services related field from an accredited college or university\r

    SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
