    General Information

    This is responsible work involving the protection of life through the performance of emergency medical and fire suppression services.

    JurisdictionAnnual Salary RangeCity of Saraland$46,918* - $67,952*per EMT Incentive Pay Policy City of Saraland #145.

    Applicants hired as a Firemedic with the City of Saraland must pass the Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) before entry into recruit school in order to maintain employment as a Firemedic.

    Requirements

    Minimum Qualification Requirements
    Graduation from a standard senior high school, or the successful completion of the General Educational Development (GED) test, and completion of emergency medical technician paramedic coursework; or a combination of education and experience equivalent to these requirements.

    Special Requirement
    Must possess a valid license as a credentialed Paramedic in the state of residence and must be eligible for reciprocity from the State of Alabama Division of Emergency Medical Services if not licensed by this Agency and must have current Board Certification from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians. Must obtain within the first year of employment certification as a Firefighter in the State of Alabama. Must possess a valid driver's license from state of residence.
