- Job Summary
- The Director of Medical/Surgical Services/Pediatrics/Oncology and Dialysis Services is responsible for the implementation of the vision, mission, philosophy and core values of the organization and of Ephraim McDowell Health Nursing within defined areas of responsibility as well as for establishing and fulfilling department-specific strategic and operational goals and objectives. Accountable to the Chief Operating Officer/CNO to maintain 24/7 leadership and supervision of designated departments so that safe, quality, cost-effective and comprehensive services are provided. Directs the nursing practice of professionals and support personnel in accordance with standards of practice as defined by the Kentucky Board of Nursing and in accordance with the Ephraim McDowell Health nursing professional practice model and collaborative interdisciplinary care delivery system. Coordinates nursing care in a manner that promotes shared nursing leadership and collaboration with other disciplines to accomplish patient and family-centered care. - Working Conditions, Hazards and Physical Effort
- Works in a well lighted, ventilated and air conditioned area. Long periods of standing, walking, stooping heavy lifting and bending are required. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. independently.

Minimal four (4) years of clinical expertise preferred. Certification in specialty preferred; required within two (2) years.
Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registrations
Current license as an RN in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Certification in Basic Life Support. Pediatric Advanced Life Support/ENPC and ACLS encouraged.
