Frye Regional Medical Center includes a 355-bed acute care hospital and features a 32-bed Emergency Department, 29-bed Inpatient Rehabilitation Center, 15-bed Surgical Suite and Inpatient/Outpatient Imaging.
Our South Campus is an 81-bed adult Behavioral Health Hospital.Where We Are:

Position Summary:
Provides direct day-to-day care of patients and families. Practices to the fullest extent of employee license in
accordance with organizational policies. Under the direction of the Nurse Director, functions as a member of
the Float Team to implement the patient's plan of care. Provides population specific care and meets the
developmental needs of populations served.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical
treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
Documents patient care given.
Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and
family.
Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and
ambulation.
Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge,
referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age,
culture, condition, and circumstances.
Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Education
Associate's degree in nursing required.
Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Licenses:
Current RN license to practice in NC
Tier 1 Float to:
Nephrology/Oncology (NEON); 4N; Neuro Progressive Care Unit; Nursing Rehab; Telemetry;
Progressive Stepdown Unit (IMCU); Surgical Unit
Certifications Required for Tier I:

BLS required
4 North: BLS required
NPCU:
BLS required. ACLS and NIH within 3 months of hire or transfer into the position.
Rehab:

Tier I:

Tier 2:
Meet all Tier 1 criteria and be competent to float to two(2) of the specialty areas: Cardiovascular Unit
(CVICU); Critical Care Unit (CCU); Neuro Intensive Care Unit (NICU); Emergency Department (ED);
Labor/Delivery/Recovery (L&D)
Certifications Required for Tier 2:
CVICU:
BLS required. ACLS, NIH and Handle with Care within three months of hire or transfer into the position.
CCU:
BLC required. ACLS, NIH and Handle with Care within three months of hire or transfer into the position.
NICU:
BLC required. ACLS, NIH and Handle with Care within three months of hire or transfer into the position.
ED:
BLS required. ACLS, PALS (or ENPC), NIH and Handle with Care within three months of hire or transfer into
the position., ASLS and TNCC preferred.
LDRP:
BLS required. ACLS, NRP, Fetal Monitoring and Handle with Care within three months of hire or transfer
into the position.
Nursery:
BLS required. NRP within three months of hire or transfer into the position.
Tier II:

Minimum Work Experience
At least two (2) years experience as a Registered Nurse required (unless previous LPN experience).
