    UPMC Cole Medical Group is currently hiring an outpatient Registered Nurse to join our Internal Medicine office in Coudersport, PA.

    This is a full-time, day shift, RN position Monday-Friday, 8:15 am to 4:45 pm, with no weekends or holidays.

    • Sign-On Bonus:

    Purpose:
    The Professional Staff Nurse is a Registered Nurse and a member of the care delivery team. The Professional Staff Nurse is responsible to set the standards for the level and quality of care. The Professional Staff Nurse has responsibility, authority, and accountability for the provision of nursing care.

    The Professional Staff Nurse manages and provides patient care activities for a group of patients and their families through the application of independent judgment, communication, and collaboration with all team members.

    The Professional Staff Nurse establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians, other health care providers, patients, and their families, to achieve desired patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care.

    The Professional Staff Nurse demonstrates a commitment to the community and to the nursing profession.


    Responsibilities:


    • Quality Improvement Advocate : Collaborate with colleagues and management to identify areas for quality enhancement. Take personal responsibility for elevating patient satisfaction through improved care and service.

    • Evidence-Based Practice : Utilize research and evidence-based approaches to enhance clinical care. Stay informed about research issues and relevant articles related to your clinical specialty.

    • Relationship Building : Establish and maintain positive, caring relationships with executives, managers, physicians, non-physician providers, ancillary staff, and patients/families.

    • Adaptability : Thrive in a complex environment, handling multiple priorities and specialized equipment. Demonstrate good clinical judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.

    • Teaching and Development : Apply adult learning principles (and potentially teaching children) when educating patients, families, students, and new staff. Provide detailed guidance during patient care episodes, both in-office and via remote communication.

    Continuous Improvement: Foster an environment of open dialogue and inquiry. Seek feedback and actively contribute to the development of students, new staff, and colleagues.


    Holistic Care Planning: Formulate individualized goals and care plans that actively involve patients as partners. Consider their unique needs in a holistic manner.


    Patient-Centered Care : Formulate patient goals and care plans, involving patients as partners. Consider individual needs holistically. Triage patient situations and collaborate closely with physicians.


    Clinical Insight : Demonstrate critical thinking by identifying clinical, social, safety, psychological, and spiritual issues within an episode of care.


    Effective Communication : Articulate and translate patient conditions to other care providers. Advocate for changes in patient care practices.


    Triage and Coordination : Efficiently triage patient situations and collaborate closely with physicians to ensure seamless care delivery.


    Comprehensive Documentation : Create thorough patient documentation that promotes communication among caregivers.


    Quality Improvement : Align with national professional organizations and organizational goals to enhance patient safety, quality, and satisfaction.


    • Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and/or interact appropriately to the ages of the patients served by his/her assigned unit as specified below.
    • Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs and to provide the care needs as described in the department policy and procedures.

    Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

    • Registered Nurse (RN) OR Temporary Practice Permit (TPP)
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) OR Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
    • CPR Certification required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
    • Act 33 with renewal
    • Act 34 with renewal
    • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
