    Dr. P Phillips Surgery Services

    The surgery department is located on the second floor of tower A and provides comprehensive care on a 24-hour, 7-day week basis.

    Dr. P. Phillips surgery provides intraoperative services for patients requiring orthopedic, neurological, general, vascular, gynecological, urologic, ENT, and robotic services.

    Anesthesia services are provided by a contracted anesthesia provider and include general sedation, monitored anesthesia care, regional anesthesia, and consultation for all patients requiring anesthesia services.

    Qualifications

    Education/Training:

    • High school graduate or equivalent.
    • Successful completion of:
    • Surgical Technology training program; or
    • U. S. Military Medical Core Training; or
    * completion of an equivalent on-the-job training program

    Licensure/Certification:

    • National certification as Surgical Technologist from one of the following is required:
    • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) ) - renewed every 4 years; or
    • Tech in Surgery - Certified by the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) ) - renewed annually.
    • Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification.

    Experience:
    One (1) year surg tech experience in a tertiary service. Technical expert in at least one tertiary service. Competency to scrub major procedures in at least two (2) specialty services.

    Education/Training:

    • High school graduate or equivalent.
    • Successful completion of:
    • Surgical Technology training program; or
    • U. S. Military Medical Core Training; or
    * completion of an equivalent on-the-job training program

    Licensure/Certification:

    • National certification as Surgical Technologist from one of the following is required:
