    Your Impact


    Job Description:
    Provide assistance to New York State Office of General Services (OGS) Project Manager as directed

    Manage project plans, schedules, and monitoring of building construction, repair, and rehabilitation projects from planning stages through the completion of construction telecommunications projects and contract management across New York State.

    Assure that proposals meet client needs, are within cost limitations, and project elements are completed per schedule.
    Actively track, monitor, research validity and compliance with Contract documents for all work from inception to final closure.
    Communicate with Contractors and project team.
    Manage RFI's, change orders, contract document review, shop drawings, submittals/approvals and other technical matters
    Manage forecast and cost scheduling
    Manage change orders review and the review of payments
    Manage project contract documents, codes, policies and procedures
    Manage field memorandums and field directives
    Assist PM or EIC with payment application review, writing minutes of project meetings, preparing regular reports, field inspections as required and other duties related to construction site activities
    Review contract claims & advise senior management

    Who You Are


    Minimum Qualifications:


    Bachelor's Degree or higher degree AND two years of professional experience construction planning, cost estimating, project scheduling, resource management (including labor, material, and equipment scheduling), and construction document reading and interpretation.

    5-7 years minimum experience in construction involving multiple phases of large-scale building/rehabilitation projects valued above $10 million, with knowledge of all facets of construction and construction documents.

    A minimum of 4 years of the experience shall be in the role of assistant project manager responsible for large scale projects valued above $10 million with an extensive knowledge of all facets of construction and construction documents.

    Must be able to manage the various projects using established controls and procedures and provide job site leadership in all areas of scheduling, safety, quality, coordination with the designers and any critical issues pertinent to the project or the client / facility.

    OSHA 30 Certification Required
    Ability to pass criminal background checks for DOCCS
    Strong Civil Engineering background with experience of inspection requirements for various trades

    Have a full working knowledge of the change order and cost review process and the review / approval of contractor's payment application.

    Proficient in basic computer skills utilizing Windows / Outlook / Word / Excel and scheduling applications
    Understanding of construction scheduling utilizing Primavera P6
    Strong interpersonal skills
    Strong verbal and written communication skills
    Valid driver's license - Occasional travel within the region will be required.
    Must be available to work alternate work hours on as needed basis.
    Proven ability to adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
    This hire will be contingent upon client selection and successful background check.

    Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

    Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

    This role is subject to a client mandated drug/alcohol testing policy. As such, employee may be subject to random drug/alcohol tests.

    A copy of the client mandated drug/alcohol testing policy will be provided during employee onboarding and is available upon applicant request.

    Travel throughout the region will be required, vehicle will be necessary with valid driver's license.


    Preferred Qualifications:
    Knowledge of NYS Building Code
    OSHA 30 Hour certified required

    Expected Salary:
    $78,300 – $157,000
