    Must Haves:

    • 7+ years of experience in database administration of high availability and critical production systems
    • Experience working with Oracle 19c for backup and recovery
    • Experience with Oracle RAC and Data Guard
    • Experience with SQL Server 2014, 2016, or 2019
    • Ability to support a 24/7 production support environment performing database maintenance and tuning
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    Plusses:

    • MongoDB and Cassandra preferred
    • Oracle certification preferred.

    Day to Day:

    One of our telecommunication clients is seeking to hire a Database Administrator to join their team. This person will be supporting a multi-database environment to meet the needs of their end clients. They will be working mainly with Oracle and SQL, but having experience with Cassandra and MongoDB would be a plus. Individuals will be working in a 24x7 production support environment, overseeing database maintenance, monitoring, upgrades, patching, performing tuning, and backup/recovery. Candidates should be local to Ashburn, VA and be able to go on-site 2x a month or on an as needed basis. The shift is 9-5pm but will require on-call rotations and potential weekend work.

    Responsibilities will include :

    • Overall maintenance, administration, monitoring and troubleshooting for Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL MongoDB and Cassandra databases:
    • Install and Build database structures
    • Backup & Recovery
    • Apply patches and upgrade database versions
    • Daily maintenance including monitoring and database maintenance tasks
    • Query and performance tuning
    • Part of On-Call rotation
    • Develop and maintain documentation
