    Perioperative First Assistant Role



    This role requires a dedicated and skilled nursing professional to provide direct patient care as a first assistant to surgeons during surgical procedures in the operating room.



    Job Description:



    The perioperative first assistant will work alongside the surgeon and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care. This includes pre-operatively performing focused assessments, analyzing data to determine nursing diagnoses, and communicating desired patient outcomes throughout the perioperative continuum.




    • Deliver intraoperative patient care as the first assistant to the surgeon(s) as a collaborative team member.

    • Maintain accurate records of patient information, including vital signs, medication administration, and procedural documentation.

    • Demonstrate expertise in providing efficient and effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare teams regarding treatment plans and progress updates.
