    Description


    Responsible for monthly closing processes related to retail divisions and completion of various account reconciliations including right of use asset, lease liabilities, inventory in transit, and bank reconciliations.

    Assist management with ad hoc requests and analysis.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:


    Assist in the monthly closing process for retail divisions by preparing account analysis on various income statement and balance sheet accounts including prepaid assets, accrued liabilities and others.

    Analysis is prepared using excel or pivot tables. Prepare journal entries based on these analyses.
    Record journal entries, primarily via uploads into the general ledger, as provided by Divisional Finance business partners.
    Complete detailed analysis on retail inventory in transit. Maintain Access database on all inventory in transit purchase orders. Research unusual items working with other departments as needed. Ensure proper accounting is completed in a timely fashion for imported retail inventory.
    Complete detailed analysis on lease accounting for real estate in accordance with ASC 842. Research items with other departments as needed. Ensure proper accounting is completed in a timely fashion. Prepare details and analytics to ensure footnote disclosure is accurate.
    Responsible for the reconciliation of approximately 50 US, Canada, and certain foreign cash accounts. Must be able to review and reconcile transactions in multiple currencies.
    Communicate reconciling cash items to appropriate parties, primarily Treasury, so that correcting entries are booked. Follow up and escalate any items not being resolved in a timely fashion.
    Provide requested cash reconciliations and lease accounting reconciliations to auditors as needed. Assist auditors with annual cash confirmation process. Respond to follow up questions and provide supporting documentation as needed.
    Prepare bad debt analysis for 10-K purposes.
    Prepare and distribute a monthly statement package for retail divisions.
    Complete special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

    Experience:
    2-5 years of experience
    SAP and Essbase experience is a plus.

    Education:
    4 year Accounting/Finance degree

    Basic knowledge of GAAP
    Strong written and oral communications skills
    Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
