Job Summary

The Operations Analyst in the Academic Scheduling and Space Management (AS&SM) unit serves as an expert in planning, implementing, and executing all unit operations in consultation with the Associate Director. They play a key role in assisting the Associate Director in effectively planning and carrying out unit operations, including class schedule production, registration, enrollment, classroom management, and utilization. The OA also supports enrollment management through the system management of Ad Astra Monitor-Align-Predict (MAP) and conducts regular training sessions for colleagues and stakeholders while ensuring high-quality communication and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Recommend, create, and implement long and short-term operational plans
Collaborate with Registrar and Bursar's offices on PeopleSoft settings
Identify and implement strategies to improve course enrollment and space utilization
Maintain Ad Astra Monitor-Align-Predict (MAP)
Develop and lead training sessions and manuals
Participate in campus groups and teams
Lead the development of academic calendars
Act as a strategic advisor to the Associate Director
Liaise with key stakeholders to improve workflow integration

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Proficiency in campus data sources and systems
Knowledge of FERPA and data privacy policies
Understanding of student registration best practices
Ability to analyze and present data effectively
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Strong organizational and planning abilities
Experience in collaborative decision-making
Expertise in problem analysis and resolution

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent training
Four years of administrative work experience

Preferred Qualifications

Four years of higher education experience
Two years of class schedule production experience
Proven track record of building partnerships

Compensation

Classification: Administrative Analyst Specialist-Exempt II
Anticipated Hiring Range: $5,446/month - $6,259/month
CSU Salary Range: $5,022/month - $9,083/month

San Jose State University offers employees a comprehensive benefits package typically worth 30-35% of the base salary.
