Job summary
The purpose of this classification is to perform manual and semi-skilled work involving the care for animals and maintain cleanliness and upkeep of the animal shelter in support of the County's animal shelter operations.Maintains the welfare of the animals in the shelter: provides general care to animals by bathing, groom, exercising,
treating for fleas/ticks as needed etc;
Provides unskilled assistance and manual labor support to veterinarian staff with medical care
of animals in the shelter:
Cleans and maintains the shelter: cleans/disfects all
animal areas related equipment according standard operating procedures makes minor repairs,
reports any problems Team Leader Veterinary Technician or Shelter Manager Assists with animal adoptions supervises introduction potential adoptions Interacts communicates comfortably various groups individuals such Team Leader Veterinary Technician Animal Shelter Manager public coordinates activities team members ensure smooth operation facility Operates vehicle variety equipment washer dryer computer printer scanner laminator fax machine uses specialized tools squeegee scrub brushes microchip scanner scooper syringes needles catch pole leashes utilizes supplies paper stainless steel food pans stainless steel buckets cleaning chemicals pet food office supplies Additional functions classification designed safety sensitive position subject random drug alcohol testing other drug testing methods policies adopted Forsyth County concerning drug alcohol Performs other related duties required
