Marketing Senior Manager, US Heme
Location:
Boston, MA (3 days onsite, 2 days remote on a weekly basis)
Vertex currently operates at the forefront of rare disease scientific innovation and has successfully developed and commercialized multiple breakthrough medicines for Cystic Fibrosis (CF) and Sickle Cell Disease.
In addition to clinical development programs in CF, Vertex has more than a dozen ongoing research programs focused on the underlying mechanisms of other serious diseases including programs in Type 1 diabetes, hemoglobinopathies, APOL-1 Mediated Kidney Disease, Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency, and pain.
General Summary:
The individual in this role will support the delivery of the patient and caregiver marketing strategy and tactical plan for our first genetic therapy for hemoglobinothapies (sickle cell disease and beta thalassemia), Casgevy.
The Senior Marketing Manager will be responsible for overseeing development of brand and unbranded marketing tactics for the Sickle Cell disease indication, measuring those tactics for success and ensuring they are delivered to customers effectively.
The successful candidate will have an ability to thrive in an environment of rapid change, collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams, and have a solution oriented and customer mindset.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Develops/updates brand and unbranded marketing materials that are aligned with marketing strategy and business objectives (including branded websites, non-personal promotion, brochures, etc.).
Enhances customer by ensuring marketing pieces have been uploaded to the CRM platform been uploaded to the CRM platform and coordinating conference activities (including promotional booth and conference materials).
Analyzes complex digital and print material usage metrics for performance reporting and assessing needs for future updates across the brand.
Develops strong partnerships with cross-functional team to support business goals
Participate in the development of the annual brand plan to achieve business objectives.
Collaborates with brand leaders to ensure metrics are in place to measure the impact of tactics in field.
Leverages knowledge of best practices to develop key marketing insights.
Acts as a resource for team members with less experience
Knowledge and Skills:
Ability to understand the target market at a high level
Broad understanding of regulatory rules and regulations
Ability to understand all elements of brand strategy and role in executing that strategy
Exhibits ownership and broad accountability for projects and internal assignments; understand when it is appropriate to flag issues to management
Ability to understand insights and the implications, and apply those insights to tactics, business problems, and opportunities
Strong knowledge of MS Office applications, including PowerPoint, Excel and Word
Experience in pharmaceutical marketing, or closely related field(s) (e.g., pharmaceutical sales, ad agency, etc.)
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, scientific area, or related field
Typically requires 6 years of experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience
