    Qualifications

    Education

    Required: High School Diploma or GED; graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program or school.

    Experience

    Medical Assistant I: Entry-level role with no experience required, or 1 year of directly related experience as a medical assistant.

    Medical Assistant II: 5 years of directly related experience as a Medical Assistant with Certification/Registration as a Medical Assistant, or 6 years of directly related experience as a Medical Assistant with no Certification/Registration as a Medical Assistant.

    Medical Assistant III: 8 years of directly related experience as a Medical Assistant with Certification/Registration as a Medical Assistant, or 9 years of directly related experience as a Medical Assistant with no Certification/Registration as a Medical Assistant.

    Special Skills

    Required: Basic computer skills, basic medical/nursing terminology, and ability to use equipment and supplies for selected patient population.
