All DOC positions are designated as Safety Sensitive Positions and are subject to random drug testing pursuant to the Secretarial Directive governing Personnel Drug Testing.
Medical marijuana usage, as defined in Amendment 93 of the Arkansas Constitution, prohibits Personnel in a Safety-Sensitive Position from the use of medical marijuana even if they are qualifying patient under the amendment and/or hold a registry identification card.
Department Personnel are prohibited from the use or possession of a medicinal marijuana card pursuant to this policy and state law.

Summary
The Arkansas Department of Correction (ADC) / Department of Community Correction (DCC) Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overall maintenance of buildings and grounds and equipment.
Functions
Supervises the work of groundskeepers and maintenance staff by establishing work schedules, assigning specific duties, and reviewing work performed on a regular basis to ensure adherence to deadlines and proper procedures.
Monitors building and grounds for public safety and security and checks safety systems, such as emergency lights, smoke alarms, and fire extinguishers.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures. Knowledge of building and grounds maintenance techniques and equipment. Knowledge of inventory control techniques. Knowledge of state purchasing procedures. Knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures. Ability to operate, maintain, and perform minor repairs on various types of electrical and mechanical equipment following safety procedures. Ability to conduct on-site inspections to determine compliance of work with departmental standards and regulations. Ability to plan, organize, and oversee the work of lower-level supervisors, skilled and semi-skilled workers. Ability to maintain adequate supplies and inventory records.
Minimum Qualifications
The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; plus three years of experience in one or more skilled trades, including two years of supervisory experience.
