    Programmer-Analyst

    Judd Wire Inc., a Sumitomo Electric Group company, is looking for a Programmer/Analyst in our Turners Falls, MA office. This person will be responsible for designing, building, maintaining, and enhancing business systems applications used by Judd Wire personnel and business partners that interact with server-based databases. They will evaluate, recommend, and implement platforms, frameworks, technologies, and tools needed for building, maintaining, and administering these applications. Work with end users, senior management, and other members of the IT department to define, implement and document user requirements.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities

    • Design, develop, enhance and test computer systems that support the information processing needs of the organization.
    • Document design specifications, installation instructions, and other system related information.
    • Modify and maintain existing applications as needed.
    • Analyze end user needs and translate them into information system requirements.
    • Provide advice on project cost, design concepts or design changes.
    • Manage project tasks, timelines, and communications.
    • Assist in the development of information systems standards and procedures.
    • Provide support for Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) with trading partners including transaction mappings and interfaces to other Judd systems.
    • Maintain a high degree of knowledge in all areas of IBM-i related activity, including hardware, software, communications, emulation and EDI.
    • Provide end user support for systems.
    • Train end users on system operation or maintenance.
    • Prepare monthly status reports; maintain service contracts.

    Qualifications

    • Information technology or computer programming degree required.
    • Previous experience in application development.
    • Excellent analytic skills.
    • Attention to detail.
    • Solid background in SQL Server, SSQS, ASP.NET, and HTML.
    • Good communication skills.
    • CompTIA A+ Certification a bonus.
    • Must be flexible and able to learn new systems and adapt existing ones as business needs change
