- Completing 24 hour report sheet
- Staff assignments made by outgoing Charge Nurse. Complete any changes needed on the end of shift report, and confirm assignment expectations with staff.
- Round on floor, check each room (patient, bathroom and storage rooms) for safety and cleaning needs immediately after report
- Check that each patient is present and/or accounted for
- Address safety concerns immediately
- Relay expiring medications and renewals to providers (day shift only)
- Print Temp Track Daily Summary Report every night and take corrective action accordingly
- Certify and validate Certified Time-Assure all staff are present and on time. Document tardiness/absence on certified time
- Complete Crash Cart Check and rotate Auto-Pulse batteries
- Assure Omni-cell counted
- Complete PRN, Missed Medication and Omni-Cell discrepancy printed at end of each shift. Discrepancy reported to Nurse Manager
- Assure QC completed on glucometer
- Complete concurrent monitoring on Foley and Central line
- Que PRNs to print hourly
- Check Wanderguard system (dayshift only)
- Assure vital signs have been entered and daily weights obtained
- Complete 24H chart checks (night shift)
- Assure staff have completed their assignments by the end of the shift
- Coordinate Admissions and Discharges
- Communicate code team assignments
- Q Shift Armband Monitor
- Throughout shift and end of shift assure all Critical Ancillary Notes have been entered for critical I-stat/Glucose
- Ensure room and tables are free of clutter and cleaned
- Inspect Medication room: ensure no supplies are on top of Omnicell or other cabinets
- Ensure no corrugated/card board boxes are present in resident rooms, nursing stations or in any areas of CLC
- Ensure episodic charting, IV documentation, I&Os, Care Tracker and BM reports have all been documented
- Update electronic kardex every shift
- Ensure that all diet orders are updated on Kardex daily
- Ensure PCAs are cleared at the end of every shift
- Ensure that all IVABs have been mixed and administered correctly
- All other duties as assigned, pertaining to this occupation, to meet the needs of the Agency, Department, Facility, and/or Service

Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) delivers fundamental care to assigned resident using skills to effectively apply all aspects of the nursing process with collaborative, evidence-based practice which will enable effective care coordination. They provide professional assessment to an adult population of predominantly older, male residents and must demonstrate knowledge of age related factors, changes associated with the aging process, and ability to provide care according to age-specific competencies.
