    What You Will Do:

    The Director of Distribution will direct and oversee distribution operations with a complex multimillion dollar, commodity-based inventory across the United States, with oversight for more than 100 employees.

    Five Distribution Center Managers report to the Director of Distribution.

    Directing, managing, hiring and training a team of employees, dedicated to processing JIT orders safely, effectively and efficiently in a 5S model, utilizing Lean tools and techniques is the primary focus of this role.



    Primary Responsibilities


    • Directs and oversees day to day distribution center activities nationwide, ensuring progress relative to a balanced set of KPIs in the areas of safety, quality, delivery, inventory management and cost.
    • Ensure consistent focus on and application of all safety standards. Promotes a "safety first" culture that empower all team members to work safely and report any concerns immediately.
    • Provides support and direction to on-site Distribution Center Managers regarding all personnel and staffing issues in conjunction with the local Region Sales Manager and Human Resources Team.
    • Set staffing levels, carrier pickup and site work schedules that support the local business needs
    • Creates development plan to help identify future leaders within the DC team.
    • Uses Lean tools and techniques to oversee continuous process improvement initiatives related to all distribution activities.
    • Ensures consistency in process/standards throughout the distribution network
    • Collaborates cross-functionally with the sales team, supply chain / purchasing team and business development team on operational objectives and priorities for growth initiatives and new products/services.
    • Collaborates with purchasing and supply chain team regarding inventory flow, space, and vendor exceptions.
    • Collaborates with Director of Operations on, facilities management, expense control, freight, and strategic objectives set forth by the executive team.
    • Develop, implement and oversee bonus structure for DC employed
    • Regular travel to 5, US-based locations.

    Work Experience


    What You'll Need:

    • Minimum 10 years distribution, light manufacturing or requisite experience, including military leadership experience required.
    Must reside in one of these locations: Reno, NV, Denver, CO or Los Angeles, CA


    • Proven track record collaborating with cross-functional teams, include inside and outside sales teams.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple work streams and prioritize multiple and conflicting tasks
    • Must possess clear business writing skills and ability to convey ideas in a concise and clear way
    • Demonstrated continuous improvement mindset including the application of Lean and Six Sigma tools and techniques
    • Multi-site management with sustained performance across a broad set of KPIs over multiple years
    • Must be proficient in MS Office products and ERP systems
    • A calm, level-headed demeanor and positive attitude when dealing with stressful situations
    • Demonstrated team building skills with both inter-and-intra-department personnel
    • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree a plus
    • Bilingual strongly preferred.
