    GE Aerospace Research (GEAR) seeks a Senior Engineer to join our growing Thermal Management and Systems team
    The Thermal Management and Systems Senior Engineer will lead the innovation of fluids-thermal management systems technologies core to aerospace systems and subsystems, including aircraft systems, avionics, propulsion, and power generation
    The role requires use of multi-physics computational analysis of components and systems from requirements generation through test validation

    Preference will be given to those individuals with experience in a Digital Engineering environment with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience and tools (e.g., Cameo Enterprise Architecture, sysML, etc.)



    Job Description Essential Responsibilities:

    • Lead multidisciplinary teams of GE Aerospace Research colleagues, GE Aerospace team members, and external partners to invent, shape, and mature the next generation of thermal management technology
    • Shape the analysis, design, and testing of innovative thermal management systems that meet the needs of current and future GE Aerospace products
    • Deploy your extensive experience in modeling, simulation, and/or experimentation to characterize and validate novel thermal management components and systems
    • Provides technical guidance through effective coaching/mentoring
    • Owns the development and maintenance of technology roadmaps and demonstrating accountability for a pipeline of funded projects
    • Leads the development and writing of internal and external proposals
    • Leverages and grows an external network of collaborators in academia, government, and industry
    • Patents your inventions and develop a record of publication via conferences and peer reviewed journals Qualifications: • Doctorate degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or related engineering discipline with 5 years of professional experience OR Master's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or related engineering discipline with 10 years industrial experience
    • In-depth knowledge of System's engineering principles, specifically requirements management
    • Experience solving complex energy systems and/or thermal management problems for aerospace systems and/or energy systems
    • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams to mature complex engineering systems from concept thru validation
    • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
    • Due to the nature of the work done at Aviation Research, this role requires the individual to obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S
    citizenship

    • Direct knowledge of space power and propulsion applications, or high-speed flight vehicles
    • Experience implementing system modeling and/or systems-of-systems modeling in a Digital Engineering environment, including Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools
    • Experience developing technical ideas with external customers and a track record of converting ideas to programs
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to interface with senior leaders and customers with clarity and confidence

    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines The base pay range for this position is $100,000 - $205,000 USD Annually
