About the Position
This position may be underfilled as a Public Administration Associate Grade 16 Housing Code Inspector I Grade 19 or Housing Code Inspector II Grade 21 Once the employee is at full performance and meets the minimum requirements of the Proficiency Advancement process they are eligible for non competitive promotion through the series to the Housing Code Inspector III Grade 23
What You'll Be Doing
A Housing Code Inspector plays a vital role in protecting community health and safety by ensuring residential and commercial properties meet housing standards which supports the organization's mission of maintaining safe habitable and compliant living environments Duties include but are not limited to scheduling initial follow up inspections with residents homeowners and business owners performing individual team property inspections identifying code violations explaining interpreting codes providing technical advice issuing notices orders summonses citations preparing cases testifying in court administrative hearings working with civic homeowner organizations addressing improving community conditions coordinating efforts with other agencies local jurisdictions on cases
