    Description

    We are offering a $10,000 sign-on bonus with a 2-year commitment or a $30,000 sign-on bonus with a 3-year work commitment

    UPMC Mercy is hiring a full-time MRI Technologist to join their team This position's hours will consist of 4 10-hour shifts that will vary from daylight, evening, and nights. This position will require weekend and holiday availability, but will not have on-call responsibilities.

    Responsibilities:

    • Performs all job responsibilities of Level II MRI Advanced Technologist including practices and maintains MR safety in the department, addresses patient safety through proper patient identification, labeling/preparation/and administration of contrast and communicating according to standard operating procedures, completes procedures according to protocol while presenting relevant information to physician, and updates and documents patient information into rad assessment.
    • Leads orientation and training for new hires, students and other medical personnel; ensures competencies are completed in the required time frame. Responsible for offering remediation with technologists when necessary
    • Assists with quality assurance projects and assists in the development of exam protocols alongside of or in place of Advanced Level II MRI Tech and communicates results back to departmental leadership.
    • Coordinates daily workflow and schedule of the department while maintaining staffing levels based on, but not limited to, call offs, vacations, patient volumes, and training needs.
    • Assumes the leadership role in the absence of the supervisor
    • Assists in talent acquisition interviews for successful recruitment of MRI Technologist candidates and provides feedback for annual performance reviews.

    Completion of formal training in MRI-related program accredited by the ARRT or ARMRIT or CNMT program or accredited ARDMS program. 3 years MRI experience required. Performance review consistent with minimum of strong/ Solid performance on last performance review required.

    Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

    ARRT or ARMRIT MR Certified required. CPR or BLS Required. CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.

    • ARRT Certificate OR American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT) OR Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (NMTC) OR Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
    • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting
    • Act 33
    • Act 34
    • Act 73 FBI Clearance
