Job Summary:
We like to prepare many foods from scratch.As a prep cook you are to prepare various recipes like sauces, meats, seafood, poultry, etc.
Promote work and conduct oneself in a manner consistent with the mission of THE SHACK RESTAURANTS refer to Daily Prep List at the start of each shift for assigned duties understand and comply with standard portion sizes cooking methods quality standards and kitchen rules policies procedures clean and sanitize workstation area including tables shelves walls grills broilers fryers pasta cookers sauté burners convection oven flat top range refrigeration equipment prepare a variety of foods such as meats vegetables or desserts according to customers orders or supervisors instructions following approved procedures in broilers ovens grills fryers and other kitchen equipment weigh or measure ingredients portion according to standard portion sizes recipe specifications wrap food directly on plates for service guests wash peel cut fruits vegetables fruits fruits peels cut make special dressings sauces condiments sandwiches stir strain soups sauces store food designated containers storage areas prevent spoilage take record temperature food food storage areas refrigerators freezers place food trays immediate service store them refrigerated cabinets receive store supplies equipment utensils refrigeraors cupboards other storage assist cooks staff tasks needed provide cooks items carry supplies equipment utensils between areas use manual electric appliances clean peel slice trim foods promptly inform supervisors when is not working properly when low order items remove trash clean garbage containers complete opening closing checklists assist others open close kitchen coordinate fellow employees meet guests needs support operation restaurant attend scheduled employee meetings offers suggestions improvement
