    IT Support Specialist - Own the IT Experience for Two Key Wisconsin Sites

    At Ellison Technologies/GSC, we're looking for an IT Support Specialist to serve as the primary on-site IT resource for our Wisconsin operations. In this role, you'll support approximately 75 employees across our Germantown and Pewaukee locations, ensuring their technology works seamlessly so they can focus on serving our customers.
    You won't be alone.
    You'll work closely with our centralized IT organization, which manages standards, security, identity, and infrastructure. Your role is to bring those resources to life locally-delivering responsive, hands-on support and ensuring a great technology experience for our teams. (back this time we are only interviewing candidates that are currently in a commutable distance to both our Germantown of Pewaukee operations)

    • Ownership: You will be the primary IT presence supporting our Wisconsin sites.
    • Impact: Your work directly supports 55 employees in Germantown and 21 employees in Pewaukee. (We would expect the majority of the time spent in our Germantown operation with the most people)
    • Autonomy with support: You'll operate independently day-to-day while collaborating with Ellison's centralized IT teams.
    • Hands-on environment: This is a highly visible role where you'll solve real problems and build relationships with end users.

    Responsibilities
    Regional on-site support & coordination
    • Provide hands-on, on-site IT support and coordination for Wisconsin locations, acting as the primary local point of contact.
    • Support the following Wisconsin sites: GSC, ET - Wisconsin, ET Parts, and ET Spindle.
    • Coordinate badge requests and physical access needs in alignment with established processes.
    • Serve as a local point of contact for potential security incidents and coordinate escalation to the security team as required.
    End-user technical support
    • Provide support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals for on-site and remote users.
    • Troubleshoot Windows/macOS operating systems, common applications, and browser issues.
    • Support collaboration tools and services (email, Microsoft Teams, VPN, printers) and resolve issues remotely or in person as needed.
    • Document work and coordinate with the Help Desk; escalate complex issues to systems, network, or security teams with clear diagnostics.
    Device & endpoint management
    • Deploy and support standardized hardware; replace failed devices and coordinate warranty repairs.
    • Manage endpoints using tools such as Intune, supporting OS and application patching in coordination with centralized IT teams.
    • Assist with device inventory and lifecycle records in partnership with the Help Desk.
    User access & identity support
    • Perform routine identity tasks such as user account changes, password resets, MFA assistance, and device trust troubleshooting.
    • Support identity platforms including Active Directory and Entra ID (Azure AD).
    Network & connectivity support
    • Act as a first responder for internet outages, Wi-Fi issues, and VPN connectivity problems.
    • Perform basic troubleshooting (cable checks, power, ISP coordination) and escalate to the Network Engineer with a clear diagnosis.
    Security & compliance support
    • Enforce and support endpoint security standards, including disk encryption, security policies, and approved endpoint protection tools (Aurora Protect & Focus, Threat Down), escalating exceptions or security incidents to the security team as required.
    • Identify and report potential security incidents or policy violations.
    • Follow data protection and compliance requirements (e.g., NIST, HIPAA, CMMC, ISO) and collaborate with the CMMC team when applicable.
    User training & customer service
    • Provide clear, professional, and patient support to maintain high user satisfaction.
    • Educate users on best practices and available self-service tools.
    • Support onboarding and technology adoption initiatives.
    Local infrastructure & facilities coordination
    • Support conference rooms and AV systems.
    • Coordinate with facilities and vendors on cabling, power, networking needs, basic switch checks, UPS devices, and printers.
    Qualifications
    Required Skills & Qualifications
    • 3+ years of hands-on IT support experience in a corporate or manufacturing environment
    • Experience supporting both office and light industrial users preferred
    • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
    • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VPN)
    • Ability to operate independently as the primary IT presence for regional sites while maintaining strong communication with centralized IT teams
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills; ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
    • Strong time management, multitasking, attention to detail, and documentation discipline
    Preferred (Nice to Have)
    • ERP systems experience: Epicor ERP, NetSuite ERP, and Hyperion Financial Reporting
    • Experience with ITAR, CMMC, DoD environments, and related certifications
