    Ready to step into the role of Office Manager?


    As the first point of contact, you¿ll provide essential support to the Department Chair, faculty, staff, and students, and you will exercise keen discernment on everything associated with the department¿s first impressions.

    Your responsibilities include handling financial transactions, managing hiring processes, overseeing payroll for adjunct faculty and student employees, and facilitating approved purchases for department offices and faculty research.

    Additionally, you¿ll guide faculty and graduate students through admission, program requirements, and graduation clearance. If you¿re intrigued by spreadsheets and financial intricacies, this role offers an opportunity to delve into educational finances.

    *What you¿ll do in this position:


    Financial Management:
    Manage department, faculty research, and external research accounts.
    Review and process faculty expenses, ensuring compliance with financial policies.
    Disperse graduate scholarship funds from various sources.
    Execute department purchases to support operations and faculty research.
    Assist with faculty and student travel requests and expense reports.
    Address common to intermediate finance inquiries.
    Initiate and oversee approved purchases for department offices and research.
    Train faculty on accessing research account spending and balances.
    Maintain accurate financial records.
    Ensure adherence to university financial policies.


    Graduate Programs Management:
    Provide guidance to graduate students from admission to graduation.
    Monitor program requirement completion and graduation clearance.
    Facilitate licensing recommendations for graduates.


    Administrative Support and Collaboration:
    Serve as the initial contact for faculty, staff, and students.
    Assist the Department Chair in various administrative tasks.
    Routine hiring, raise, and termination actions for graduate student research assistants within established departmental guidelines.
    Facilitate smooth interactions within the department.
    Work closely with faculty, staff, and students to achieve departmental goals.

    Maintain accurate records related to student records.

    What qualifies you for this role:
    Required

    A firm commitment to the mission of BYU
    Bachelor¿s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in related field(s)
    Knowledge of accounting principles and use of related software
    Competent and current in application of standard procedures and policy compliance for financial and HR functions
    Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
    Professionalism, efficiency, and ability to maintain confidentiality
    Excelle nt management and executive functioning capabilities
    Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written communications
    Ability to integrate multiple systems and processes into tasks and responsibilities

    Preferred

    Bachelor¿s degree plus four years in related field(s)

    Awareness of government and BYU policies and regulations impacting financial and uman resources transactions
