    Description

    Medical Laboratory Scientist at KAISER

    The position of Medical Laboratory Scientist at KAISER involves performing various phases of laboratory testing procedures, ranging from simple to complex tests. The role requires the MLS to have the knowledge to select appropriate lab tests, interpret results, and ensure data quality.



    Responsibilities:
    • Testing and Processing:

    Conducting varied testing procedures as per KPWA Laboratory protocols, covering all phases of testing. This includes quality control, troubleshooting, and specimen processing.

    • Computer Data Entry & Retrieval:
    Accessing and entering specimen information and results into the system. Serving as a technical resource by addressing queries and resolving issues.
    • Other duties:
    Engaging in Performance Improvement initiatives, overseeing test method evaluations, and guiding lab assistants.

    Requirements:
    Experience
    • Minimum one (1) year of clinical lab experience or recent MLS/CLS program graduate.
    Education
    • Bachelor's degree.
    License, Certification, Registration
    • Must obtain relevant certificates within 6 months of hire.
    • Basic Life Support certification within 3 months of hire.
    Additional Requirements:
    • Ability to meet national certification exam requirements.
    • Proficient in basic computer skills, communication, and problem-solving.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Two (2) years of MLS/MT experience.
    • Completed accredited MLS/MT Program.
    • Certified as MLS/MT by hire/transfer date.
